Technical Service Engineer – Tier 3

Gamatronic develops, manufactures, and sells UPS electrical devices that provide emergency power to appliances when the input power source fails. The company’s technology includes UPS systems of a wide range of outputs,  monitoring, and control solutions for power systems.

The Tier 3 Technical Support team is the final escalation point within the Technical Support Organization. Technical issues that cannot be resolved by levels 1 & 2 support staff in the field are escalated to the Tier 3 Technical Support Engineer. 

As a Tier 3 Engineer you will demonstrate an attitude and appetite for learning new technologies, and applying this to solve customer issues remotely to drive customer satisfaction. You’ve the opportunity to troubleshoot and resolve the most difficult and complicated issues. This position works closely with R&D, Quality, Product Management, Engineering and Sales. The Tier 3 Engineer is the escalation point for technical support issues globally.

 What you’ll be doing in this position:

  • The escalation point for Tier 3 TS issues escalated from Tier 1 & 2 support staff globally.
  • Provide product training to Tier 1 & 2 support and act as a mentor to junior support engineers.
  • Provide “on-site” support to global customers as needed.
  • Responsible for escalating technical issues, that could not be resolved by Tier 1 & 2 Engineers, to Product Development and Software Development.
  • Work continuously to increase Tier 2 Engineer product knowledge by reviewing escalated cases on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all levels of Customer Support are informed on all product enhancements / latest releases by working closely with the Product teams and sharing that information with the entire Support organization.  
  • Ensure customer and partner inquiries are responded to within established timeframes and customer care and technical support service levels are achieved.

Requirements:

  • Electrical or Electronics Engineering, and a minimum 3 years’ experience in providing call center (remote) technical support on electronic systems and/or capital equipment systems.
  • 2 years’ experience as team leader or manager
  • Electrical license
  • Experience utilizing debugging tools and lab simulations to analyze problems and identify solutions.
  • Basic understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC circuits and ohms law and DC/AC circuits and their basic principles/ topologies – Advantage.
  • Basic understanding in building power flow: Schematic, Wire and CB selection, Power parameters and measurements – Advantage
  • Ability to logically troubleshoot software issues to determine the root cause and present suggested work-around and solutions.
  • Proven professional client facing skills.
  • Fluent English, speaking and writing – Must. Other languages – Advantage

  • Excellent written communication and verbal skills, as well as strong listening skills.
  • Possesses strong customer relation skills.

Embedded SW Engineer (Linux Platform)

  • We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing Linux Platform Team in Jerusalem.
  • As part of the role, the embedded Linux developer would be in charge of development, deployment, and integration of device drivers, user space applications and additional tasks involving SolarEdge’s Linux platform.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 2-6 years of hands-on embedded software development experience.
  • Fluency in C and Java is a must, any other programming language – advantage.
  • Background in Linux and embedded Linux – must.
  • Working knowledge of Linux build systems (Yocto / Buildroot) – must.
  • Experience of developing embedded applications in Linux – must.

Mechanical Engineer

Description:

For our mechanical team, responsible for developing all SolarEdge products, we are looking for a mechanical engineer in Jerusalem, which will lead the research and development of new and innovative mechanical design in the field of electronic packaging and design the future SolarEdge’s products.

Responsibilities:

  • Electronic packaging design of outdoor products with high power dissipation.
  • Design parts for plastic injection, die cast, extrusion and sheet metal.
  • Mechanical design PCB.
  • Preparation of production files including mechanical drawing, PCB mechanical drawings.
  • Specification review and approval of manufacturing tools and molds.
  • First article inspection review and approval.

Requirements

  •  B. Sc. or higher degree from recognized institute.
  •  5-10 years of experience in mechanical design
  •  At least 2-3 years in electronic packaging design to meet safety and environmental requirements.
  • Experience in products design for manufacturing by plastic injection, die casting and metal forming – Must.
  • Experience in PCB design – Must.
  • Experience in design with a 3D CAD software – Must (SolidWorks- Advantage).
  • Experience in drawings and production files preparation – Must.
  •  Experience in validation, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical first articles – Must.
  •  Experience in production support.
  • Experience with PDM/PLM and ERP software – Advantage.
  • Experience in thermal and strength evaluations – Advantage.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent team relationships.
  • Ability to work on several project in parallel.

Power Electronics Engineer – Team Leader

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Power Electronics engineers and leading them to success
  • Managing a timeline and resources for 2-3 projects in parallel and deliver on time
  • Recruiting, leading and promoting juniors to make them better
  • Taking a major part in the development of the company’s flagship products
  • Responsibility for the development from the design stage to the final product, including all tests necessary to deliver the product to mass production (electronic tests, thermal tests, EMI tests…). 
  • Working with other teams inside the Hardware division and outside of it (such as the Mechanical department, Software and more)
  • Reporting to the relevant Director for progress

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering

  • Knowledge in Analog circuits and Op Amps behavior – Must.
  • Experience of designing Flyback DC2DC converters
  • Proven experience working with lab equipment such as Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Electronic Loads etc.
  • 1+ year of experience in circuit design and HW board design – Advantage
  • Knowledge of DC2DC converter topologies such as Buck, Boost, Flyback and forward – Advantage
  • Knowledge in magnetic design – Advantage
  • Knowledge in Orcad, Visio and Pspice – Advantage
  • Feedback control loop knowledge – Advantage
